The athlete earned international recognition and affection for presenting the world with one of the most memorable events in the history of sports when she scored the first ever perfect ten on asymmetric bars during the Montreal Olympic Games in 1976. In the following years, she was able to score six other perfect 10 and became the youngest Olympic all-around gold medalist, at only 14.
